Michael Jordan's home Burglarized in Illinois: All you need to know

Michael Jordan's mansion in Highland Park, Illinois was burglarized earlier this week, according to several reports. An 18-year-old man was arrested and is facing several charges, including criminal damage to property and trespassing.

TMZ Sports reported that Jordan's neighbors in the 2700 block of Point Lane made the call to authorities around 4:10 PM on April 4. The Highland Park Police Department immediately responded to the call and found the suspect still inside MJ's property.

According to The Daily Herald, the 18-year-old man's name is Raiden K. Hagedorn of Anthony Avenue. He was booked by the police and was charged with one count of criminal trespass at an occupied residence and two counts of criminal damage to property.

The Daily Herald report noted that all three charges against Raiden K. Hagedorn are misdemeanors. Hagedorn was later released by the Highland Park Police Department on a recognizance bond. That meant Hagedorn didn't have to pay to get out of jail, but his case will remain pending.

In addition to Hagedorn, the police also arrested a juvenile accomplice for the burglary. But since the second suspect is underage, the police cannot reveal his identity or give out more details about the case.

However, the Lake County state attorney's office released some of the details regarding the burglary. Police believe that Hagedorn didn't trespass on the property to steal anything, but a window was broken at Michael Jordan's mansion. Hagedorn's court date is scheduled for April 20.

Michael Jordan was not at his Highland Park property when an 18-year-old man and a juvenile broke into his house. Jordan has not lived inside his 56,000-square-foot mansion since it was listed on the market for $29 million in 2012.

It has been more than a decade and the property is still listed for sale at a discounted price of $14.8 million. But why is the greatest player of all time having a hard time selling a really nice mansion?

According to Business Insider, the Chicago Bulls legend is struggling to find a buyer because the property's location is not popular with wealthy individuals and celebrities. As long as his Highland Park home is on the market, Jordan pays more than $100,000 per year in property taxes.

That's a lot of taxes, but MJ is worth billions. He currently resides in a mansion in Jupiter, Florida with his wife Yvette Prieto and their twin daughters, Ysabel and Victoria. He also owns a high-end golf course called "The Grove XXIII" and it's located in Hobe Sound near Jupiter.
