Jerry Krause was booed in front of widow by Bulls fans

Fans booed late Chicago Bulls GM Jerry Krause during their inaugural Ring of Honor class on Friday. The man responsible for building a legacy-cementing roster around Michael Jordan and turning them into 6x NBA champions was in the middle of audible boos.

This was predominantly due to how he also played a part in the dynasty's undoing as shown in ESPN and Netflix's 'The Last Dance'. Krause being booed had his wife Thelma in tears over the lamentable reception. This led to Twitterati slamming Jordan for Krause's portrayal in the groundbreaking documentary (without the latter's view on affairs).

One of the fans minced no words.

The boos just didn't die down, leading to quite an embarrassing situation at the United Center.

And the reactions poured in slamming Jordan .

Krause, 77, died in 2017. He served as the longtime general manager of the Bulls team from 1985-2003. Throughout his career, he won Executive of the Year twice and was inducted into the Basketball Hall of Fame after his death.

While Jerry Krause was looked at as one of the responsible parties when the Bulls went through a dire run after their six-ring reign, he will still go down as one of the greatest executives in NBA history.

Bulls analyst Stacey King and former Bulls star Steve Kerr slam fans for booing Jerry Krause

The boos by fans at the arena had widespread reactions from fans and analysts and one of them was Bulls analyst Stacey King, who condemned the move.

"What we witnessed today when Jerry Krause's name was called and the people that booed Jerry Krause and his widow, who was accepting this honor for him — it was the worst thing I've ever seen in my life. I hurt for that lady. Brought her to tears. Whoever booed her in this arena should be ashamed of themselves," King said. "That's not Chicago. That's New York. Philly. Chicago's not like that. We don't have a reputation of being that way."

Also lambasting the fans was former Bulls sharpshooter and now-present Golden State Warriors head coach Steve Kerr, who called the actions unacceptable and "shameful."

"It's absolutely shameful. I'm so disappointed in the fans — and I want to be specific, because I know there were lots of fans I'm sure who did not boo. But those who booed, they should be ashamed. I cannot believe ... I'm devastated for Thelma and for the Krause family. What can we possibly be thinking?

Other members who were honored included the team's 'Big 3;' Michael Jordan, Scottie Pippen and Dennis Rodman. The remainder of the team, featuring Toni Kukoc, Artis Gilmore, Bob Love, Chet Walker, Jerry Sloan, Phil Jackson, Tex Winter, Dick Klein and Johnny Kerr formed the inaugural Ring of Honor class.
