The LA Lakers pulled off a tremendous 122-111 win against the Phoenix Suns on Wednesday (March 22) night. That ended the Purple and Gold's nine-game losing streak against the Suns, sending fans into a frenzy.

The latest iteration of the Lakers-Suns rivalry finds its roots in the 2021 NBA playoffs. Following a grueling season, the Lakers met the Suns in the first round of the playoffs. Although the Lakers lost their first game of the series, they won the next two.

Misfortune struck shortly in the form of injuries, and the Lakers' title hopes fell apart. The win in Game 3 would be the last game Lakeshow won against Phoenix in at least two seasons before Wednesday night.

It almost felt like the Lakers broke a curse, and fans were all for it. One said:

"Bron ain't even back, yet too gg"

With fans going berserk on social media, we took a look at some of the best responses on Twitter.

Despite playing without LeBron James, the LA Lakers came away with a favorable result in a highly unfavorable matchup. Now tied for ninth in the West with the Dallas Mavericks, the Purple and Gold have a real shot of going as high as seventh with another win.

New big three shines for LA Lakers

The LA Lakers saw some massive contributions from players across the board. However, in typical Purple and Gold fashion, a new big three has seemingly emerged in LeBron James' absence.

The trio of Austin Reaves, Anthony Davis and D'Angelo Russell gave the Phoenix Suns all they could handle. Davis looked like his superstar self as he took over in the second half with 27 points and nine rebounds.

Russell had the ball on a string, as he came up with some timely buckets to keep the Lakers' lead alive, ending the night with 26 points and six assists. Meanwhile, Reaves continues to rise in stature as a player. The LA Lakers' golden boy earned himself a spot in the starting lineup against the Suns and didn't disappoint.

With 25 points and 11 assists, Reaves put on a show at the Crypto.com Arena. Coming up with a key assist to hammer the nail into the Suns' coffin, "AR15" gained adulation from Lakers fans.

The Lakers are yet again on the cusp of being a .500 team. However, they will need to bring their A-game against the OKC Thunder to do so.
