OKC Thunder superstar Shai Gilgeous-Alexander on Tuesday night posted a compilation of images of himself on Instagram following his 37-point night against the Sacramento Kings on Monday. As usual with his captions, the Thunder guard paired the post with a caption that read like rap lyrics. The caption reads:

"I might shoot over a double, or throw a lob to the rim, idc who’s in front of me, what’s a mob to a king?"

Looking at Shai Gilgeous-Alexander's performance so far this season

Shai Gilgeous-Alexander is having another MVP-like season. After finishing second to Nikola Jokic for last year’s MVP award, he’s once again among the league’s top MVP contenders.

Gilgeous-Alexander has done a fantastic job carrying the OKC Thunder (13-4) to the top of the Western Conference. The Thunder star is averaging 29.2 points, 6.5 assists, 5.1 rebounds, 1.7 steals and 1.1 blocks per game, showcasing his well-rounded play style.

His standout scoring performance came on Nov. 11, when the Thunder faced the LA Clippers. Shai dropped a career-high 45 points, leading OKC to a 134-128 victory.

So far, Shai has recorded a couple of double-doubles this season. His first came in October during the Thunder’s 128-104 win over the Atlanta Hawks, where he posted 35 points, 11 rebounds and nine assists — falling just an assist short of a triple-double.

He then notched his second double-double in the Thunder's most recent game against the Sacramento Kings. Gilgeous-Alexander came up with 37 points and 11 assists.

With his stellar play so far, it wouldn’t be surprising to see Gilgeous-Alexander climb to the top of the MVP ladder as the season progresses.
