NBA Injury Report: Andre Iguodala still out, Donte DiVincenzo still out, and more updates on Cole Anthony and Chet Holmgren | November 3, 2022

2022 NBA Finals - Game Six
Andre Iguodala will eventually make his 2022-23 NBA season debut.

The defending NBA champions Golden State Warriors will continue to miss the services of Andre Iguodala and Donte DiVincenzo. Golden State is surprisingly struggling right out of the gates and could use the services of the two veteran players.

Iguodala hasn’t played a game this season as the Warriors are making sure his hip is fully ready to go for the 2022-23 campaign. “Iggy” is playing the final year of his career but is still expected to contribute to the Warriors besides’ veteran leadership and locker room presence.

The 2015 NBA Finals MVP is an excellent passer who has tons of chemistry with Steph Curry, Klay Thompson and Draymond Green. Warriors head coach Steve Kerr will continue to manage Iguodala’s hip while giving more playing time to his new players.

The Bay Area team will resume their five-game road trip against the Orlando Magic and New Orleans Pelicans in back-to-back games. If Andre Iguodala makes his debut this season, it will likely be at home against the Sacramento Kings on Monday.

Meanwhile, Donte DiVincenzo, who the Warriors signed in the offseason, is arguably their most exciting NBA free-agent acquisition. He was a key part of the Milwaukee Bucks’ 2021 championship team before he was shipped to Sacramento.

DiVincenzo played quite well with the Kings before joining the Golden State Warriors. Many expect him to take on the role Gary Payton II left when GP signed with the Portland Trail Blazers. DiVincenzo’s heady plays and defense were expected to be his key contributions in the Warriors’ title-retention bid.

After their road swing, Golden State will be at home against Sacramento before they get four days off. The Warriors will have a clearer picture of DiVincenzo’s status by then.

The Orlando Magic have missed Cole Anthony's shooting and playmaking.

The Orlando Magic have been decimated by injuries, including Cole Anthony, who injured a right oblique muscle against the Cleveland Cavaliers. Anthony played 32 minutes in that game but struggled with just nine points on 2-10 shooting. He has now missed the Magic’s last three NBA games.

For the season, Cole Anthony is averaging 15.5 points, 4.8 rebounds and 4.3 assists. For most of last season, he was Orlando’s best player, which is why the team’s fans were excited for him this season.

The injury, however, will keep Anthony out of the lineup for at least the next couple of weeks. His return will depend on how his body reacts to treatment and rehab. The Magic are confident that they will get their confident forward back fully healthy this NBA season.

Orlando’s medical staff reported that Anthony’s progressing well.

Chet Holmgren: Lisfranc injury on the right foot; injured since August 2022

A Lisfranc injury will keep Chet Holmgren out of the 2022-23 NBA season.
A Lisfranc injury will keep Chet Holmgren out of the 2022-23 NBA season.

Chet Holmgren's career will forever be associated with LeBron James before he plays his first NBA game. During Jamal Crawford’s CrawsOver Pro-Am League game in Seattle, Holmgren guarded James’ fastbreak layup and came down limping.

A few days later, the OKC Thunder will declare that he will miss the entire 2022-23 season due to the injury. The No. 2 pick of the 2022 NBA Draft was touted to be one of the best rookies. Thunder fans will have to wait until next season to watch him play.

The Thunder are off to a good start with a 4-3 record. They will be more than excited to get a fully healthy Holmgren to open the 2023-24 NBA season. GM Sam Presti has been very happy with how Holmgren has been doing with his rehab.
