The Sacramento Kings have a new gimmick this year. For every win the Kings achieve this season, four laser beam lights will point towards the sky. This is to notify Sacramento fans that the Kings were triumphant in their battle at the Golden 1 Center. Apparently, these beams of light are now registered on Google Maps known as "The Beam".

Google Maps briefly listed the team's Golden 1 Center as a "place of worship," and it was formerly referred to as evidence of faith. While it appears that Google took down the post after about six hours, during that time it racked up more than 100 reviews with a rating of five stars.

Looking at how the Sacramento Kings are doing this season

The Sacramento Kings are on a roll for the 2022-23 NBA season. Last season, they ranked 12th in the West with a 31-41 record. This year has been a complete turnaround compared to their previous seasons. As of December 5, the Kings are sitting comfortably on the fourth seed with a 13-9 record. It was the best start Sacramento has had in a long time.

According to sources, the last time the Sacramento Kings made the NBA Playoffs was back in 2006. The most notable players on that roster were Mike Bibby, Metta World Peace, and Peja Stojakovic. Sacramento went up against the San Antonio Spurs in the first round of the playoffs where they fell short and made an early exit. They fought a hard battle and were able to push the series to six games.

Since then, the Kings have struggled to make it back to the playoff picture. In 2010, they were able to secure the fifth overall pick in the NBA draft. This allowed the organization to draft a young DeMarcus Cousins. From 2010-2016, Cousins became the face of the franchise, however, he was never able to help his team make it back to the post-season.

In 2017, Sacramento was able to secure another first-round lottery pick. This time around, they selected De'Aaron Fox as the fifth overall pick. Fox had a slow start in his first couple of seasons, averaging just 11.6 points in 2018 and 17.3 points in 2019. Now entering his sixth season with the squad, Fox has established himself as the new face of the franchise.

This season, De'Aaron Fox is averaging 23.1 points, 5.8 assists, 5.1 rebounds, and 1.1 steals. His efforts have been a huge factor in the Sacramento Kings' recent success. Additionally, Fox is now surrounded by quality teammates. He is a two-time All-Star in Domantas Sabonis, a former NBA champion in Harrison Barnes, and Malik Monk who got to play with basketball legend LeBron James.

Apparently, the Kings have successfully acquired the pieces to finally make it back to the playoffs this year. If their hot steak continues, then it's very likely that their hopes and dreams of becoming top contenders in the league will become a reality.
