LA Lakers superstar LeBron James continues to "terrorize the league." That's exactly what analyst Skip Bayless believes.
After a disappointing start to the 2022-23 season, the LA Lakers (16-21) have battled to get back in position for a playoff run. With fellow superstar Anthony Davis on the sidelines, the Lakers have had to lean on another star to carry them.
That star has been none other than LeBron James. The recently turned 38-year-old has shown no signs of slowing down. James continues to wow fans with his performance despite being in his 20th season.
His most recent stretch of performances has shown that James can still be a dominant force. In his last seven games, James has averaged 35.4 points, 7.3 rebounds and 7.1 assists per game.
LeBron's most recent performance against the Charlotte Hornets got the attention of Skip Bayless. On "Undisputed," Bayless praised LeBron after his 43-point outing in a 121-115 outing at the Charlotte Hornets on Monday night. Bayless pointed out that James' performance was in front of Hornets owner Michael Jordan.
“LeBron loves to light up in Michael Jordan's house,” Bayless said.
LeBron James and the LA Lakers look to make up ground in Western Conference
The LA Lakers are doing everything in their power to right the ship while Anthony Davis is on the sidelines. That includes LeBron James, who has been outstanding with his recent play.
In his last two outings, James has turned heads with his production, averaging 45.0 ppg, 10.5 rpg and 7.5 apg and shooting 64.2%.
Los Angeles (16-21), which has won three of its last four games, is set to return home Wednesday for a two-game homestand. Next up for the Lakers will be a game against the Miami Heat (20-18), who defeated the Lakers 112-98 last Wednesday during their road trip. The Lakers host the Atlanta Hawks (17-20) on Friday.
If James can continue to play at this level, the Lakers will have the opportunity to make a run at the NBA playoffs. Health has been the only thing holding back the Lakers.
For now, it looks as if the most important piece of the puzzle is playing some of his best basketball of the season. The hope is that Davis will soon return, especially with LeBron's recent play. If that can happen, the Lakers may have a shot at making a run in the Western Conference.
