Steph Curry applauded teammate Klay Thompson after the latter passed Dirk Nowitzki and Jason Kidd on the all-time 3-pointers list. Thompson achieved the feat on Monday during the Golden State Warriors' 112-104 home loss against the Indiana Pacers.

With 1990 career 3-pointers made, Thompson now ranks 13th on the all-time list. Meanwhile, Kidd is 14th, and Nowitzki is 15th. Here's what Curry had to say about Thompson achieving this milestone (via Warriors on NBCS):

"The rest of his career, he can slowly keep climbing up that list. There'll be a lot of respect for him as a shooter... The clutch guy that will knock it down no matter where he's at. He's set a high standard for what shooting a basketball is in today's game."

Klay Thompson could've been way up on this list by now if not for the ACL and Achilles tear he suffered in 2019 and 2020, respectively. He was forced to stay away from the court for two and a half years due to those injuries. Nevertheless, Thompson has looked in solid shape since his comeback.

He has struggled with his shot on various occasions, but when he finds his rhythm, the five-time All-Star has been tough to stop alongside his "Splash Bro" Steph Curry. If he stays healthy, it wouldn't be a surprise to see him break into the top five or top three on the all-time 3-pointers list by the time he calls time on his career.

Klay Thompson reveals thoughts on passing Dirk Nowitzki and Jason Kidd

Klay Thompson had plenty of time to reflect on his career and personal life during his time away from the game. The four-time champion has said on many occasions that he doesn't take anything for granted since getting the opportunity to play again after two long-term injuries.

Thompson echoed the same sentiments after passing Dirk Nowitzki and Jason Kidd on the all-time 3-pointers list. Here's what he said (via Warriors on NBCS):

"Grew up loving both those guys, especially Dirk because he's a shooter and JK, just as a baller, Bay legend. So yeah, it means a lot to me. I don't take that for granted. Two of the all-time greats right there, so that means a lot to me."

Thompson was on fire from the 3-point line during the Dubs' loss to the Pacers. He scored 28 points, making 8 of 16 shots from the arc. After a slow start, the sharpshooter has found his rhythm over the last few games. He has improved his efficiency to 39.0% from the 3-point line for the year.

The Warriors will be hoping he can sustain this form, as it's crucial to their hopes of strongly finishing the regular season. Golden State has gotten off to a below-par start. They are currently 10th in the Western Conference with a 13-12 record.
