Golden State Warriors star Stephen Curry shared his reaction to the Curry Brand’s first-ever collegiate superstar’s defensive play. On Monday, Curry reposted South Carolina women’s basketball star MiLaysia Fulwiley’s block against North Carolina State University, hyping her up for the emphatic rejection.

The Warriors guard applauded Fulwiley in an Instagram story, as she played a key role in top seed South Carolina’s 71-57 win over NC State in the South Eastern Conference.

“Yeahhh,” Curry said, mentioning Fulwiley in the IG story.

Fulwiley put up 18 points, three rebounds and one block. She shot an efficient 8-of-14 field goal clip, including one three-point made, all while playing with Under Armour’s gear and shoes with the Curry brand.

Fulwiley played for Team Curry during her final AAU season, earning her connection with the four-time NBA champion. In a statement shortly after signing with the brand, Curry praised Fuilwiley for her work ethic and her unique style of play as a guard.

“When it comes to the ability to change the game for good, nobody can speak to that more than MiLaysia. She’s changing the women’s game on the fly with how she plays and moves on the court," Curry said.
“She has a unique style and flow to her game that I don’t think many people have seen in a long time … She was a part of Curry Camp, is a Team Curry alumni, and is currently playing at an Under Armour school. So, there are just so many great tie-ins to the Under Armour family, and partnering with her and Curry Brand is such a special opportunity. I’m humbled that she is now a part of the family,” Curry added.

Last season, Fulwiley was pivotal in South Carolina’s run to the SEC championship, taking the tournament MVP award after averaging 11.8 points, 2.9 rebounds, 2.3 assists and 1.8 steals per game.

Stephen Curry opens his brand’s first-ever store in China

During the last offseason, Stephen Curry led the opening of his brand’s first-ever store in China as they expanded their network of sneakers to Asia. The store is located in Chengdu, China. Curry was joined by Sacramento Kings star De’Aaron Fox, a Curry brand superstar, to lead the store’s opening last September.

Curry unveiled his latest signature shoe during the 2024 Paris Olympics. He wore the sneakers throughout the tournament en route to the gold medal alongside other NBA superstars LeBron James and Kevin Durant.

The brand debuted in 2020 and has since released 12 of Curry's signature shoes, including the one he used at the Paris Olympics.

Last June, the brand also signed Keisei Tominaga, a star from the University of Nebraska men’s basketball team, joining Fulwiley as the only college player signed with the brand.
