"Suspend Ja and then add a real thug to their game?" - Lil Durk NBA 2K reveal sparks hilarious responses online

NBA 2K continues to combine elements of hip hop and music into the series by making rapper Lil Durk a playable character. The 30-year-old artist is the fourth rapper to appear on NBA 2K23 following J. Cole, Jack Harlow and Lil Wayne.

While some fans of the NBA 2K and Lil Durk are excited about the news, others just roasted Ja Morant and 2K Sports. The rapper has been involved in multiple controversies over the years in relation to guns, while Morant has been away from the team following a gun incident in Colorado.

Durk was first arrested in 2011 on a weapons charge and was sentenced to three months in jail. He was arrested again two years later for allegedly throwing a loaded gun into his car after Chicago police approached him

The Chicago-native was charged with unlawful use of a weapon by a felon before being released a month later. Durk was charged with attempted murder in June 2019, but the case was dismissed last October.

Fans quickly jumped on Twitter to make fun of Durk, Morant and NBA 2K.

Here are some of the best comments:

2K Sports made the announcement on NBA 2K's official Instagram account. Durk met with Ronnie 2K and underwent scans so that he'll be added to the game. He also made his debut on the NBA 2K soundtrack in this year's edition with "Every Chance I Get" alongside DJ Khaled and Lil Baby.

Gamers can unlock Durk by completing his Spotlight Challenge on MyTEAM. They have to win a game against a team consisting of the Grammy-nominated rapper, LeBron James and Allen Iverson. The difficulty should be semi-pro and the mode is triple threat.

Lil Durk is a huge Chicago Bulls fan. He was born and raised in the south side of Chicago before making it big. He's been in attendance during Bulls games and there were even rumors of him signing a 10-day contract with the team back in 2019.

Before the start of the 2022-23 season, Durk even predicted that the Bulls would win the championship. However, that might not be the case considering how poorly the Bulls have played this season.

The Bulls currently have a record of 30-36 with 16 more games remaining in the season. They are 11th in the Western Conference standings, but are just one game behind the final play-in tournament spot. It has been a disappointing season for Chicago, given all the success they had last year.
