"This actually happened": NBA fans in splits as Twitter AI accuses Klay Thompson of brick-vandalism following 0-for-10 outing

Golden State Warriors v Sacramento Kings - Play-In Tournament
Klay Thompson being accused of brick-vandalism by Twitter's AI garners reactions from NBA fans

Things didn't go in Golden State Warriors guard Klay Thompson's favor during Tuesday night's disappointing 118-94 loss to the Sacramento Kings. During the contest, Thompson posted a lowly zero-point outing (0 of 10 shooting) as he struggled to get any kind of rhythm on the court. Following the loss, the AI on X (formerly Twitter) posted an accusation aimed at the Warriors guard for "brick-vandalism."

The accusation detailed the five-time NBA All-Star vandalizing houses in Sacramento with bricks. It was a baffling post since it was in direct relation to how Thompson performed in the NBA Play-In Tournament and was also shared by NBA Central (@TheDunk Central on X).

Following the post, several NBA fans shared their reactions in the comments section of the post.

"This was not Ai. This actually happened," the fan wrote.

Meanwhile, X user Naz Reid Enthusiast (@NazReidMVP) mimicked the energy of the post from X's AI by suggesting that he was affected by Klay Thompson's "brick vandalism," coming from the San Francisco area.

"First off... I am okay. My house was vandalized by bricks in San Francisco. After my hands stopped shaking, I managed to call the sheriff... they were quick to respond. My window was gone and the police asked if I knew who did it. I said yes, it was Klay Thompson in the play-in," the fan posted.

Additionally, X user Sano (@SanoDFS) continued with the joke by mocking the Warriors guard as well.

Moreover, X user Emmanuel....i (@AshE_Nuel) shared that his roof from Nigeria was also affected by the bricks.

"Lol, bro was breaking my roof even in Nigeria here," the fan posted.

X user Emoney (@Chocolate_Dr0pp), on the other hand, questioned the validity of the post as they previously thought it came from a parody account.

"This ain't NBA Centel???? No way this is real lmao," the fan posted.

Meanwhile, X user RatKing (@HeatWaveHub) mocked Klay Thompson's ability to miss shots on and off the court.

"Bro is throwing bricks on and off the court," the fan posted.

Moreover, X user Trolled By Dahyun (@TrolledByDahyun) did some quick math to showcase the equivalent number of bricks from 10 missed field goals on the court.

"I mean 10 missed FGs = 1000 bricks," the fan posted.

With how Klay Thompson performed last night in a crucial game for the Golden State Warriors, it was evident that he would receive this kind of treatment on social media as his team missed a chance to secure a playoff seed in the Western Conference.

Stephen Curry talked about Klay Thompson's performance in Tuesday night's 118-94 loss

Following Tuesday night's disappointing loss to the Sacramento Kings, Stephen Curry stood by his fellow Warriors teammate after a rough night of shooting the rock.

"Everybody's going to talk about one game," Curry said. "I know he wanted to play better. ... I know he's a true champion. We all prepare ourselves to play our best when the lights are bright. When it doesn't happen, nobody needs to tell you anything."

Nicknamed "The Splash Brothers," the sharp-shooting duo have been teammates for 11 seasons with the Golden State Warriors, capturing four championships together. Despite the result of the game not going in their favor, Curry acknowledged that Klay Thompson wanted to play better.

In the 77 games he's played this season, Thompson has put up 17.9 points (43.2% shooting, including 38.7% from 3-point range) and 3.3 rebounds per game. The numbers are far from what fans have become accustomed to when it comes to Thompson's shotmaking ability.

The biggest difference in his production this season compared to past outings is the decrease in efficiency with his field goal shooting. Unfortunately for fans, that aspect of his recent game showcased itself at the worst possible time for him and the team.
