Denver Nuggets forward Michael Porter Jr.'s NBA 2K25 rating was recently revealed. According to Porter's teammate Aaron Gordon, he was lowballed by the popular video game franchise.

Ahead of NBA 2K25's Sept. 6 release date, NBA 2K unveiled the No. 51 to 70 ranked players on its Top 100 players list on Tuesday. Minnesota Timberwolves star center Rudy Gobert headlined the rankings, coming in at No. 51. Meanwhile, Phoenix Suns and LA Clippers star guards Bradley Beal and James Harden placed No. 52 and 58, respectively.

However, Porter just made the cut, ranking No. 67, maintaining last year's overall rating of 83. Other players with the same overall include Zach LaVine, Tyler Herro, Draymond Green, Kyle Kuzma, Desmond Bane and Deandre Ayton.

As for Gordon, he placed slightly higher at No. 61, with an overall of 84.

@NuggetsLead on X/Twitter promptly asked Denver fans to share their thoughts on Michael Porter Jr.'s placement among NBA 2K's 100 best players. Gordon was among those who weighed in, noting that his teammate deserves to rank higher.

"Too low," Gordon said.

Most Nuggets fans agreed with Gordon, making the case for Porter's overall to be in the 85 to 87 range.

"Feels a tad bit low. I’d go 85 overall and/or closer to 50-55th in the league. At the same time, 2K ratings are always trash," @TylerRobertKey said.
"85-87 would’ve been better/more accurate, IMO," @Kush6xi wrote.
"He’s an 86 or 87, IMO, not even being biased," @MileHighAvenu_E said.

Some even argued that Porter should rank above Gordon.

"AG was higher, and that’s not ok," @Freshnuggies said.

However, it's unclear if Gordon thinks Porter deserves to be placed over him.

Possible reasons for Michael Porter Jr.'s modest NBA 2K25 rating

Michael Porter Jr. is coming off another solid season as a No. 3 scoring option for Denver behind superstar center Nikola Jokic and star point guard Jamal Murray.

Over 81 games, Porter averaged 16.7 points, 7.0 rebounds, 1.5 assists, 0.5 steals, 0.7 blocks and 2.7 3-pointers per game, shooting 48.4% and 39.7% from 3.

However, the Nuggets failed to defend their 2023 NBA title, getting upset by Minnesota in seven games in Round 2 of this year's playoffs. That, combined with Porter's lack of versatility outside of scoring and shooting, may have contributed to his NBA 2K rating not improving.

Denver's shortcomings seemingly didn't affect Jokic much, though, whom NBA 2K ranked No. 1, with an overall of 97.
