After another disappointing Atlanta Hawks season, Trae Young has yet again been in the news for trade rumors. However, this time the speculation carries more weight, with reports suggesting that the franchise may seriously consider acquiring Young.

According to Sportskeeda's Grant Afseth, the Hawks have recently engaged in trade talks with the Sacramento Kings regarding a potential deal involving the 6-foot-1 point guard.

“The Atlanta Hawks have spoken with the Kings on a potential trade framework centered around Trae Young in recent weeks,” Afseth wrote on X/Twitter.

Throughout the 2024-2025 season, Young had been linked to the San Antonio Spurs. However, the Spurs acquired De’Aaron Fox in a midseason deal. The experiment to play Malik Monk as the point guard failed miserably, resulting in the Kings looking at other options.

Sacramento is now looking for a long-term solution as a replacement for Fox. While Trae Young is on their radar, the management has shown greater interest in the Cleveland Cavaliers’ Darius Garland.

“The Sacramento Kings have identified Cleveland Cavaliers point guard Darius Garland as a trade target as they seek to address the team’s vacancy at lead guard this offseason,” Afseth added.

Both Young and Garland are multiple-time All-Stars, established as elite guards in the East. However, the Kings now face a dilemma. Trae Young is eligible for a four-year, $229 million extension – a significant financial commitment. Garland, meanwhile, is recovering from toe surgery and has no set timeline for his return.

Trae Young’s signature “Ice Cold” celebration has become a widely recognized gesture across the sports world. Over time, numerous athletes have adopted the move, most notably Chelsea FC star Cole Palmer.

Now, the iconic celebration has made its way to the tennis world at the 2025 French Open.

Following a stunning comeback victory over world No. 19 Jakub Mensik, coming back from two sets down to win 2-6, 1-6, 6-4, 6-3, 6-3, Portugal’s Henrique Rocha cherished the moment with Young’s trademark celebration.

However, Rocha could not make it past the third round of the Grand Slam, suffering a 7-5, 6-1, 6-2 loss in his next match against Alexander Bublik.
