Victor Wembanyama reacts to Giannis predicting legendary career for him: “I really like the Antetokounmpos”

Victor Wembanyama is one of the most highly touted NBA prospects of all time. The dominant big man boasts a unique combination of athleticism and finesse for his size and seems poised to dominate the league for years to come.

As the June 22 NBA draft looms off in the distance, Wembanyama has continued to put on stunning performances, earning him high praise from some of the NBA's best. Heading into the season, Giannis Antetokounmpo sang the French prospect's praises on Serge Ibaka's "How hungry are you?" show.

At the NBA's 2022 Abu Dhabi Games, The Greek Freak spoke about Wembanyama's sensational play. As part of a recent video with the NBA's official social media accounts, the top prospect watched Antetokounmpo praise him before reacting.

"It's cool to see Giannis saying this stuff, because he's probably my favorite player," Wembanyama said. "He's such a humble guy. He talks about the work I need to keep doing, because he knows how it is to come from the bottom.

"It's nice to see him talk about me like this, especially because I played with his brother. They do really look alike. I really appreciate these guys. They're really generous and humble. I really like the Antetokounmpos."

What have Giannis Antetokounmpo and other NBA stars said about Victor Wembanyama?

There is no question in regards to whether or not Victor Wembanyama goes first in the draft. Given that, it's no surprise that NBA players have regularly spoken highly of the towering young star.

It's reminiscent of when Shaquille O'Neal was playing at LSU, and Larry Bird touted the big man. At the time, he warned that the league had never seen anything like what O'Neal brought to the court.

Giannis Antetokounmpo spoke similarly about Victor Wembanyama last offseason on Serge Ibaka's "How hungry are you?":

"This kid is going to be a problem. A big problem. I've never seen this before in my life. I saw him up close. He was on the same team as my brother Kostas. He's taller than Rudy Gobert. He can block shots like Rudy but shoot like KD (Kevin Durant). Bro, bro. Crazy, crazy. He has a good attitude. If he stays healthy, he's going to be really good."

Giannis Antetokounmpo wasn't the only NBA superstar to heap praise on Wembanyama. LeBron James also spoke about the unique young star, during a news conference in October.

"Everybody's been a unicorn over the last few years, but he is more like an alien. No one has ever seen anyone as tall as he is but as fluid and as graceful as he is on the floor,"
