Dwyane Wade's wife, actress Gabrielle Union, recently celebrated her 50th birthday. The couple are currently vacationing, and during a stop in Cape Town, South Africa, Wade surprised his wife with a tattoo in her honor.
Union shared footage of the moment in an Instagram post, captioned:
"The moment you find out your man has made you his 17th tattoo. @dwyanewade made his best bday surprise for #SouthAfrica WadeWorldTour2022 edition #Capetown Part 4"
Union and the couple's daughter, Kaavia, were both surprised by the tattoo.
According to Union, it is Dwyane Wade's 17th tattoo. Some of the Miami Heat legend's most notable tattoos include a tribute piece to Martin Luther King Jr.; a piece commemorating his NBA accomplishments, including All-Star games and championships; the logo of his Way of Wade brand; a tribute to his daughter; and finally a piece that says, "My belief is stronger than your doubt," which includes the streets he grew up on, his college and "Wade County."

Last season, Dwyane Wade was named to NBA's 75th Anniversary team. When the team was honored at All-Star weekend, the three-time NBA champion spent time with NBA legends Michael Jordan and Magic Johnson, two of the greatest and most influential players ever to play the game.
Wade, a 13-time All-Star and eight-time All-NBA selection, recently shared how he felt being surrounded by such basketball royalty:
"I just looked around and I ran into Magic at one point when I first walked in. He was like 'D-Wade, only 75 people got this jacket.' And Mike creeps in and Mike gave me some love, and every time, I don't care, this is Mike."
"So Mike came and gave me love, then he went right to the old dog. He went right to Magic, right? That clip that went viral, and if you see my face, that was the moment that I realized I was in basketball heaven."
Despite being recognized as one of the 75 greatest players ever to play in the NBA, Dwyane Wade couldn't help but appreciate the greatness around him.
Wade grew up in Chicago as a big fan of the Bulls during Michael Jordan's legendary run with the franchise. He has previously said Jordan is the reason that he began to play basketball.
