Video: Teaser released for Nipsey Hussle's life docuseries filmed by LeBron James' Springhill Company

Late rapper Nipsey Hussle will be the subject of LeBron James' latest documentary. Nipsey's Marathon Films will team up with James and Maverick Carter's SpringHill Films for a docuseries about his life story. The first teaser for the docuseries was released Tuesday.

The docuseries will tell Nipsey Hussle's life story from his time growing up in the Crenshaw district of South Central Los Angeles through his success as both a rapper and community activist. The docuseries will reportedly include interviews with over 50 of Nipsey's collaborators, including Snoop Dogg, Kendrick Lamar, Diddy, and Lauren London. Additionally, there will be never-before-seen footage of the late rapper, as well as interviews with his inner circle. Hussle's life was tragically taken in front of his clothing store on March 31, 2019.

LeBron James' honored to work on Nipsey Hussle docuseries

LA Lakers star LeBron James will serve as an executive producer on the untitled docuseries. James recently revealed that he is honored to work on the docuseries, stating:

“It’s an incredible honor for SpringHill to have a part in sharing Nipsey’s story and legacy with the world. He used his gift to give back to his community and lived what it means to inspire, empower, and uplift others along the way. His words, his ambition, and his actions stick with me to this day as he continues to inspire myself, our company, and people everywhere.”

LeBron James will be joined as an executive producer by Marathon Films' Emani Asghedom and Kross Asghedom, the children of Nipsey Hussle, as well as SpringHill's Maverick Carter, Jamal Henderson, and Philip Bryon. Director One9 will also serve as an executive producer and director on the series, while Skylar Andrews and Naomi Wright will serve as co-executive producers.

Nipsey Hussle's brother Samiel 'Blacc Sam' Asghedom discusses upcoming docuseries

Following Nipsey Hussle's tragic death, his older brother Samiel 'Blacc Sam' Asghedom has taken the steps to continue his legacy. 'Blacc Sam', head of Hussle's estate, shared his thoughts on the upcoming docuseries, stating:

“Nipsey was a man of the people. He often said his purpose in life was to inspire. Nipsey’s light shone across the world. His life is a testament that his purpose was fulfilled. The family has taken the proper time and care needed to ensure that Nipsey’s life story be detailed and presented correctly and accurately. We are honored to be able to cement Nipsey’s legacy with this epic docu-series of his life. Nipsey said, “’If they made a story about my life, it better be a classic.’”

While the docuseries is yet to receive a title or release date, it is already highly anticipated.
