Bronny James and Kiyan Anthony, sons of LeBron James and Carmelo Anthony, faced off in a highly anticipated high school matchup on Monday night. Bronny's Sierra Canyon School beat Kiyan's Christ the King High School 62-51.
The game took place in Chatsworth, California, with LeBron and Carmelo both in attendance Multiple other celebrities, including Kim Kardashian and Scottie Pippen, were also at the game, which was televised live on ESPN2.
Bronny and Kiyan were not the leading scorers for their respective teams, but the former had the scoring edge between the two. \
Bronny, a high school senior, finished with 12 points, six rebounds, three assists and two steals. He also had some highlight plays, including a fastbreak alley-oop dunk and a difficult layup finish in transition.
Meanwhile, Kiyan, a high school junior, finished with eight points, two rebounds, two assists and one steal.
Bronny and Kiyan's matchup came nearly 21 years after LeBron James and Carmelo Anthony’s first high school matchup.
LeBron led St. Vincent-St. Mary High School to a 72-66 victory against Carmelo and Oak Hill Academy on Feb. 10, 2002. Their game took place in front of a sold-out crowd of 11,000 in Trenton, New Jersey.
"King James" finished with 36 points, eight rebounds and five assists on 12-for-27 (44.4%) shooting. Meanwhile, Melo double-doubled with 34 points and 11 rebounds on 14-for-25 (56.0%) shooting.
Bronny and Kiyan obviously did not have as big of nights as their fathers had back in 2002. However, the game still had a lot of meaning for both families given their history.
As for the top players in Monday’s game, Sierra Canyon was led by five-star junior shooting guard Isaiah Elohim. Elohim finished with 17 points and seven rebounds. Meanwhile, Christ the King was led by UCLA recruit Brandon Williams, who had 16 points.
Following the win, Sierra Canyon improved to 7-1 while Christ the King fell to 2-2.

Carmelo Anthony on possible return to the NBA
As for Carmelo Anthony and LeBron James, they appeared to enjoy their sons' game and were pictured embracing at halftime.
Anthony was also interviewed by ESPN where he was asked about his plans to possibly make a return to the NBA. The 10-time All-Star last played for James' LA Lakers last season and remains a free agent several weeks into the new season.
However, he explained that it was not really up to him.
“I realize there's a lot of things that's not in my control,” Anthony said.
“So I can sit back and let it play out, and whatever it's going to be, it's going to be, and I accept that.”
Whether or not Anthony returns to the NBA remains to be seen, but it sounds like he's going to make the most of things either way.
