Dwight Howard appeared on a recent episode of Shannon Sharpe's "Club Shay Shay" podcast. Howard and Sharpe shared a few stories about their favorite memories as professional athletes
It was incredible to watch. Shannon Sharpe is one of the best tight ends in NFL history. Dwight Howard was a dominant force in the prime. It's instant entertainment whenever these two are on camera together. They both have a great sense of humor.
Dwight Howard pondered the idea of wrestling against Shaquille O'Neal this year:
"This is even bigger. Wrestlemania is in LA this year. Who's the king of LA? Let's go Shaq, let's go. Let's go."
While mimicing Shaquille O'Neal's deep voice, Howard said:
"I'm ready to go, right now. Shay Shay, you be the referee, you and Skip. I'm taking you down, Dwight."
Will an NBA Team Sign Dwight Howard?
It's surprising that Dwight Howard is still a free agent. Although his best days are behind him, the 36-year old has shown that he can still be a productive NBA player. He averaged 6.2 points and 5.9 rebounds in 16.2 minutes off the bench for the Lakers last season.
He could be a serviceable back-up center for a lot of teams right about now. He can no longer replicate what he did with the Orlando Magic. But he can provide teams with rebounding and solid interior defense in short spurts.
In his prime, Dwight Howard was one of the most dominant players in the league. He won multiple Defensive Player of the Year awards. He was consistently averaging 20+ points and 14+ rebounds on great efficiency.
It's a shame that Howard wasn't included on the NBA's Top 75 players list. But it doesn't seem to bother him. He appears to be enjoying his life.
Howard's made a few appearances on other podcasts over the past few months. It's great to see him staying busy. Maybe he can pursue a career in sports media when his playing days are over. There is nothing more entertaining than watching former professional athletes reminisce about their favorite moments.
Howard has enjoyed a lot of success in the NBA. He is a:
