While fans expected no less from their hero, one fan had his mind blown after witnessing the shot.

It wasn't the Mavs' most impressive victory this season considering they blew a 25 point lead. However, thanks to Doncic's heroics, Dallas narrowly escaped what was could have been a loss.

Doncic finished with 35 points, 11 rebounds, five assists and three steals. Coming to the Slovenian's aid was Dorian Finney-Smith, who finished with 21 points, all coming from beyond the arc.

The Mavericks started strongly and led by 22 at half-time. However, the Clippers suddenly came alive in the second half and caught up in the third quarter. They ended the quarter with a four-point deficit and even took the lead in the fourth quarter. Luckily for the Mavs, Reggie Bullock and Spencer Dinwiddie did all they could to stop the bleeding in the final quarter.

Finney-Smith made two important 3-pointers along with Bullock's 13 points in the fourth. Doncic had only two points in the fourth before he made the game-winning shot.

Given Doncic's start to the season, he is one of the big favourites to win MVP this season. He scored over 30 points in eight straight games and is now tied with Wilt Chamberlain for the most consecutive 30-point games to open a season.

Doncic is averaging 34.4 points, 8.8 rebounds, 7.8 assists and 2.1 steals per game. He currently leads the NBA in scoring and his performance against the Portland Trail Blazers on November 12 was one of his greatest games. He finished with 42 points, 13 rebounds and 10 assists for a triple-double.

It's conceivable that Luka Doncic will win the 2023 MVP award if he keeps playing like this.
