In a post on X/Twitter, Sidery said rising NBA stars Paolo Banchero and Chet Holmgren – along with 17-year-old prodigy Cooper Flagg – are expected to make their Team USA debuts in the next Olympic Games in LA.

"Three players who are expected to make their Team USA debuts at the 2028 Olympics in Los Angeles: Paolo Banchero, Chet Holmgren, Cooper Flagg. Keep an eye on the 2027 FIBA World Cup in Qatar as a place where Banchero, Holmgren and Flagg will be their top overall talent as well," Sidery said.

Reacting to the news, one fan was worried for the future of Team USA and hoped the likes of Zion Williamson, Ja Morant and Anthony Edwards remained healthy:

"We are doomed... Hoopfully Zion, Ja and Ant Man are healthy."

Another fan compared the three players to the current trio of LeBron James, Kevin Durant and Steph Curry that led Team USA to yet another gold medal at the 2024 Paris Olympics:

"Three good players, but they can’t take over a game like Lebron, KD or Curry. W/out those 3, we’re either fighting for bronze or may not medal at all."

One X user highlighted that Banchero can't make his debut for Team USA in the 2028 LA Olympics because the Orlando Magic star has already played for the national team:

"Banchero participated in the FIBA World Cup 2023 in Manila."

A couple fans on social media seemingly didn't appreciate Duke Blue Devils' Cooper Flagg's name being mentioned on the list:

"Cooper Flagg shouldn’t be on the 2028 what has he done to deserve that spot," another fan said.
