Patrick Beverley believes the 2020 Clippers could've been champions

Before becoming the defensive guard for the Chicago Bulls, Patrick Beverley had some of his best years with the LA Clippers. In a recent interview, Beverley shared that his team with the Clippers back in the 2019-20 season could've won the championship if it weren't for the NBA Bubble.

The 2019-20 season will always be remembered by fans for being suspended due to the COVID-19 outbreak. It wasn't just the NBA that got shut down, everyone had to stop what they were doing in order for the pandemic to be put under control. Due to the stoppage, the momentum of most teams, like the Clippers, had to be stopped.

That same season was the first for Kawhi Leonard and Paul George, who transformed the underdog team into possible contenders.

"We were fortunate to get Kawhi," Beverley said. "We think we would've won a championship if it wasn't for the bubble. But to come back and get to a Conference finals with a hurt Kawhi - We've done a lot of good things here."

Beverley even touched on his experience reaching the conference finals with the team in 2021.

The 2020 Clippers were an interesting group led by the All-Star tandem of Leonard and George. Along with Beverley on the backcourt, Landry Shamet and Reggie Jackson were both always ready to contribute to the team.

It was also the season where Montrezl Harrell won the Sixth Man of the Year. The team had key veteran contributors as well. Guys like Patrick Patterson, Mo Harkless and Lou Williams all made an impact on the Los Angeles squad.

The Chicago Bulls were in need of a shake-up defensively this season, which is why they decided to sign Patrick Beverley in the middle of the season. Beverley was traded to the Utah Jazz before getting waived by the team. With Chicago's acquisition of Beverley, the team seemed to have had a breath of fresh air.

Although the Bulls haven't won a ton of games since signing the Chicago native, they appear to have a better defensive squad. Pat Bev also shared the major differences that he's encountered with fans of the Bulls franchise and fans of the LA Lakers.

The veteran point guard shared that he doesn't get muck flak from the Bulls fans when they lose. According to Beverley, Lakers fans constantly attack him whenever the team loses.
