Houston Rockets star Eric Gordon didn't hold back when responding to a Twitter troll recently. The exchange didn't grow into a full-blown argument, but it showed Gordon's frustration with his current situation.

Former Sixth Man of the Year wasn't happy when he saw a tweet mentioning him. The user, Paulo Alves, sarcastically posted a tweet about Rockets head coach Paul Silas drawing up a play for the veteran. This was posted during their game against the LA Clippers.

Gordon wrote:

"What’s so f**kin funny?"

Gordon's reply suggests how frustrated he could be with the Rockets not getting enough wins. The game against the Clippers was close, and All-Star forward Paul George made a tough fadeaway jumper over Gordon in the final seconds of the match. The Clippers won 95-93.

Eric Gordon is having a hard time leading this young Rockets squad. Over the past two seasons, his numbers have dropped significantly. While his glory days with the team are long gone, he still hasn't demanded a trade. The 2023-24 NBA season will be the final year of his four-year $76 million contract extension which he signed in 2019.

Houston is currently at the bottom of the Western Conference standings with a record of 1-7. The Rockets will have a chance at revenge as they take on the Clippers again on Nov. 2.

Eric Gordon and the Houston Rockets could reach a buyout agreement to send him to a contending team

Once an athletic guard who could score from anywhere, this is Eric Gordon's 15th year in the league. His experience and talent could come in handy for some contending teams. However, Gordon seems to be enjoying his time in Houston and hasn't requested a trade just yet.

The former All-Rookie Second Team member is one of the best sharpshooters in the league. Despite being an undersized shooting guard, he's been able to hold his own against the best two-guards. As he enters the third year of his contract, the possibility of being bought out could be the best option for him.

It's not too late for Gordon to reach out to the front office and request a trade either. Who would be willing to trade for a 33-year-old shooting guard right now?

Gordon's past teammates have moved on from the Rockets and found notable success outside Houston. It's time for Gordon to do the same. The LA Lakers, Phoenix Suns and the New Orleans Pelicans are some of the teams who will benefit from Gordon's 3-point shooting.

If Gordon is serious about competing for a title, he may have to do what some of his other teammates did — reach a contract buyout.

For the Rockets, they need to trade Eric Gordon while his value is still high. There may be teams willing to trade important pieces for the 2017 3-Point Contest champion.
