When Charles Barkley shot his shot with Candace Parker live on-air

Charles Barkley finds any chance he can to be funny. Perhaps the interaction he recently had with Candace Parker was his funniest yet.

He made sure he wanted to shoot his shot at Parker, and while it was likely a joke, Barkley still made it hilarious. Chuck has always been someone who will say things on air that most commentators won't. He gets away with saying things, as everyone knows that he's just messing around.

Barkley had the following to say while doing the TNT NBA Countdown with Shaquille O'Neal and others.

“Hey, Candace…I wanna say this! You’re almost looking as good as I do baby!” Barkley said while talking to his TNT cast.

Funny enough, Barkley has had a long history of explaining some of his girlfriends and shooting his shots in public.

Charles Barkley had another interaction that somehow might have been better than the one with Candace Parker. Barkley was on The Steam Room, where Ernie Johnson brought in his high school girlfriend.

“I would say this person was very influential in your life,” Johnson explained to Chuck. “As you went from Leeds, Alabama to the NBA … your first date in high school, Amy Shorter, is on The Steam Room!“

Amy Shorter explained how Barkley was a great person in his high school days. Chuck wasn't as popular as he is now, but when he hit his growth spurt, he became one of the hottest commodities.

“It was fun. We had a good time. He keeps you laughing,” Shorter explained when asked about her prom experience with “Wade,” Charles’ middle name that he went by up until college. “One thing I can always say about Wade (is) he never changed. His fame and fortune never changed him. He’s still the same all the time, and that’s what I love about him. He’s just Wade.”

Charles Barkley didn't stop there, though. He added on and even admitted that he should've stayed with Amy Shorter in high school. He realized that he messed up, as he tried to go for the more popular girl.

“Truth of the matter is I probably should have stuck with Amy,” Barkley said. “There was this one girl at our high school. She was the homecoming queen, and every guy wanted her at our high school. And what people don’t remember … I was not recruited because I was 5-foot-10. And I grew from 5-10 to 6-5 in one year. So I went from being a nobody to somebody.”

Amy was actually with me when I wasn’t popular, which is why I should’ve stuck with her,” Barkley candidly explained. “But then when I became popular, this one girl started paying me attention. And that was a mistake on my part.”

This isn't the first time we will see a funny interaction involving Charles Barkley, and it certainly won't be the last. Barkley will make jokes at any given moment and will continue to do so in the future.
