Zaire Wade is the eldest son of former NBA superstar Dwyane Wade. The 21-year-old is now playing for the Cape Town Tigers in the Basketball African League.

Before playing hoops in Africa, Wade also had the chance to play with Bronny James, LeBron James' eldest son. Zaire and Bronny were together at Sierra Canyon for the 2019-20 season, Wade's last year with the school.

Zaire Wade and Bronny James remain friends but the former went to Brewster Academy in New Hampshire while James is still in Los Angeles.

Wade had offers from DePaul, Nebraska, Toledo and Rhode Island to play college hoops, but opted to turn pro. He was drafted as the 10th pick in the 2021 G League Draft by the Salt Lake City Stars.

Dwyane Wade's son played just 13 games for the Stars, with 11 of them coming off the bench. An injury in March 2022, however, cut his season short. After a shortlived stint with the Salt Lake City Stars, he took his talents to the Basketball African League (BAL).

The former Miami Heat superstar was at the BAL combine to cheer for and support his son. Zaire has agreed to play for the Cape Town Tigers once the season starts. The Tigers play under the Nile Conference and will have most of their games in Cairo, Egypt starting in April.

Zaire Wade and Bronny James' respective careers are on a different trajectory

While Zaire Wade will start hooping with the Cape Town Tigers in April, Bronny James will represent the United States. LeBron James' son has been selected as one of 13 players for the Nike Hoops Summit.

The best U19 talents in the world will converge in Portland, Oregon, Nike's headquarters to compete in a tournament. It will be attended by many of the top scouts in basketball, including the NBA.

Last month, Zaire Wade's former Sierra Canyon teammate was also selected to play at McDonald's All-American. It's an exhibition pitting top players from the United States and Canada.

Bronny James hasn't committed to any school yet to play college basketball. He could also turn pro via the G League, most likely with the Ignite.

As of now, it looks like the sons of legendary NBA players are set for a different course towards the fulfillment of their basketball dreams.
