Who is playing LeBron James in 'Shooting Stars'?

LA Lakers star LeBron James has countless off-the-court ventures, and his newest recently emerged. He will be working on a movie once again. This time, it is a biopic called "Shooting Stars" and will cover the NBA star's time in high school.

As most know, LeBron James entered the NBA straight out of high school back in 2003. With the movie releasing this year, many are wondering who is taking on the challenge of playing his character in the film.

LeBron's character in "Shooting Stars" will be played by Mookie Cook. He is five-star high school recruit who is already committed to playing at Oregon. Right now, Cook is a top-five prospect in the class of 2023.

The high-school prospect is a 6-foot-7 forward that has a similar frame to LeBron when he was at St. Vincent-St. Mary. Cook is currently averaging around 12 points and five rebounds per game for AZ Compass Prep School.

Taking on a role like this is sure to be a big challenge, and Cook will have his hands full as he attempts to emulate one of the greatest basketball players ever.

Is LeBron James the only NBA player in "Shooting Stars"

As expected, LeBron James will be the focal point of the film. However, he is not the only NBA player that will be making an appearance.

Along with the LA Lakers star, former All-Star Carmelo Anthony will also be in the film. His character will be played by Jett Howard, son of former NBA journeyman Juwan Howard.

LeBron and Anthony did not attend the same high school, but competed against each regular. Their battles in high school were the start of them becoming friends and eventually competing together at the highest level.

Unlike LeBron, Carmelo Anthony went the college route after his days at Oak Hill academy. He played one season at Syracuse, where he led the team to an NCAA title.

From there, the two future Hall of Famers were part of the stacked 2003 NBA draft class. LeBron was taken first overall by the Cleveland Cavaliers, and Anthony was selected two picks later by the Denver Nuggets.
