Despite being one of the worst performing NBA teams over the past five years, the Orlando Magic entered the 18/19 season with the confidence that they could qualify for the playoffs. After all, the Eastern Conference is arguably at its weakest point for more than a decade, and the Magic currently boast a wealth of young talent in their ranks.

Nevertheless, the Magic's season hasn't worked out as planned, and there have been few improvements made on the court since the disappointing 17/18 season. With the Magic seemingly out of playoff contention, trades are likely in the next few days, and here we will look at the biggest Magic trade stories currently making the rounds.

Dallas Mavericks want Vucevic

Earlier this week, Nikola Vucevic became the first Orlando Magic player since Dwight Howard to be named in the All-Star roster. Vucevic earned the accolade after a stellar season, in which the center has averaged 20.6 points, 12.0 rebounds and 3.8 assists per game.

The big man becomes an unrestricted free agent in the summer, and Brad Townsend of the Dallas Morning News is reporting that the Dallas Mavericks want to add Vucevic during the offseason:

On the same night in which Doncic learned he did not make the NBA All-Star team, the Mavericks acquired a reigning All-Star in Porzingis and, according to a league source, now will set their sights on a summer addition of a 28-year-old center who on Thursday became an All-Star himself.

The Magic are hoping to convince Vucevic to sign a new deal with the team, although the Montenegrin may be tempted by the prospect of linking up with Luka Doncic and Kristaps Porzingis. There is also the possibility that the Magic could look to trade Vucevic before the deadline, although a deal will be difficult as the 28-year-old's value is currently at an all-time high.

Potential Aaron Gordon trade

Aaron Gordon has been long billed as a future All-Star who would lead the Orlando Magic back to the playoffs. Nevertheless, while Gordon continues to show promise, he is yet to hit the heights expected, and ESPN's Zach Lowe believes there could be a trade for the 23-year-old:

Who might be available or at least gettable that we don't expect? I keep coming back to Aaron Gordon. The Magic designed his descending contract to make him ultra-tradable.
The Pacers sniffed around an offer sheet for Gordon. Utah could use one more infusion of talent. How fun would a Gordon-John Collins frontline look in Atlanta? Gordon would mark a bold play for someone.

Gordon has been a regular starter in Orlando since being selected by the Magic with the fourth overall pick in 2014, and so far this season, the forward is averaging 15.8 points, 7.6 rebounds, and 3.4 assists.

Evan Fournier linked with a move

During a time of immense turbulence in the Magic's history, Evan Fournier has been one of only a few constants. The French star has been with the Magic for more than half a decade, and the 26-year-old has developed into an effective scorer, averaging at least 17 points per game in his last two seasons. Consistent scorers are a hot commodity in the NBA, and ESPN's Zach Lowe is reporting that Fournier could be a target for teams such as the Trail Blazers:

Another off-the-beaten-path name from Orlando: Evan Fournier, a wing who could give Portland or some other team some shooting and playmaking. He has two years and $34 million left on his contract; if the Magic aren't thrilled with that deal, they could suss out his value.

Back in 2016, Fournier agreed to a five-year, $85 million contract to stay with the Magic, although with the team still struggling, the Magic may be willing to offload one of their highest earners ahead of the deadline.
