The Philadelphia 76ers begin their 2024 Emirates NBA Cup tournament, and the intrigue around stars Joel Embiid and Tyrese Maxey's availabilities has picked up steam. Embiid has yet to make his season debut after nine games, while Maxey joined him on the sidelines on Wednesday after the 76ers' 110-98 loss to the LA Clippers.
The 76ers have dropped to 2-7 amid their early injury struggles. Paul George was also injured but debuted in the sixth game against the Phoenix Suns on Nov. 4 in a 118-116 loss. However, he's still finding his legs and hasn't created the impact expected from him.
The 76ers will need at least one of Joel Embiid or Tyrese Maxey back to get their season on track and have a shot at a successful group stage showing in the 2024 Emirates NBA Cup.

Philadelphia 76ers injury report for 2024 Emirates NBA Cup game: Latest on Joel Embiid and Tyrese Maxey
Joel Embiid will make his season debut for the Philadelphia 76ers in their 10th game and first of the 2024 Emirates NBA Cup on Tuesday against the New York Knicks. Embiid missed the first six games, citing injury management on his left knee that kept him out for most of the 2023-24 NBA season.
He missed the previous three games because of a league suspension. Embiid engaged in a physical altercation with a reporter, and the league punished the 2023 MVP for his actions. There haven't been any reports on Embiid being on a minute restriction.
Meanwhile, Tyrese Maxey remains out for the 76ers after suffering a hamstring strain on Wednesday against the LA Clippers. Maxey will be re-evaluated in three days. He's the only player ruled out with an injury by the 76ers.
