Dwight Howard recently joined Taiwan's T1 League and has been putting up superstar numbers in China. Howard signed with the Taoyuan Leopards in early November. In fact, there have been reports of other former NBA stars potentially joining "Superman" in Taiwan. However, some reports suggest that they will not be joining Howard in Taiwan.

Despite interest from overseas clubs, Marc Stein reported that former players are still looking to play in the NBA and have no interest in traveling in playing with Dwight Howard in Taiwan. Some notable free agents are Carmelo Anthony, DeMarcus Cousins and Isaiah Thomas.

According to Basketnews, following Howard's signing with the Taoyuan Leopards in Taiwan, local clubs have now begun looking for individuals with a similar skill set who could play in the T1 League. It's only natural for other Taiwanese teams to search for players who can take on the dominant big man. There have been reports of Cousins currently negotiating with a southern Taiwanese team.

Sources say that the Tainan TSG GhostHawks and Kaohsiung Aquas are pursuing Carmelo Anthony, while the GhostHawks are trying to sign DeMarcus Cousins. However, it appears it won't be easy to acquire them.

Nothing is final yet at this point, however, the one player likely to sign with Taiwan is Cousins due to NBA teams shying away from him.

Dwight Howard's Dominant Debut in Taiwan

On November 19, Dwight Howard made his T1 League debut in Taiwan, and he did not disappoint. In the Taoyuan Leopards' 120-115 victory over the New Taipei CTBC DEA, the eight-time All-Star scored 38 points, grabbed 25 rebounds, nine assists and four blocks. "Superman" nearly put up a quadruple-double performance.

Howard was named the game's Most Valuable Player for his performance, which included helping Taoyuan recover from a double-digit deficit early in the fourth quarter. Howard made 14 of his 32 field-goal attempts, including two from beyond the arc. The big man also ran efficient pick-and-rolls and was surprisingly a reliable ball handler.

Say what you want about Dwight Howard. At the end of the day, he's just trying to have fun in the sport he loves. At this point in his career, Howard deserves to enjoy playing the sport rather than scratching and clawing his way for an opportunity in the league that doesn't want him anymore.
