Golden State Warriors Rumors: Proposed trade has defending champs flipping Draymond Green for Pascal Siakam

The Golden State Warriors are hovering at a .500 record ahead of the NBA trade deadline. The Warriors have been linked to many rumors this season, with players such as James Wiseman, Jonathan Kuminga and Draymond Green possibly getting traded.

The Toronto Raptors, on the other hand, are being monitored by multiple teams due to their struggles this season. The Raptors could end up trading players such as Fred VanVleet, Pascal Siakam, Gary Trent Jr. and OG Anunoby.

Eric Pincus of Bleacher Report cited an NBA executive who proposed a trade between the Warriors and Raptors. The executive suggested trading Draymond Green and one of their young players in exchange for Siakam.

It makes sense for the Golden State Warriors to upgrade their roster with Pascal Siakam, who is younger and a better scorer than Draymond Green. Siakam is also capable of defending multiple positions.

However, the Raptors would likely want more besides Green and someone like James Wiseman for their All-Star forward. Doug Smith of the Toronto Star reported a couple of weeks ago that the Raptors would want at least three first-round picks for Siakam.

The Golden State Warriors dynasty might not be over, but it might be changing. Draymond Green could opt out of his contract at the end of the season and become a free agent. His future with the Warriors has been in question ever since the incident with Jordan Poole.

Green even insinuated in an interview with Taylor Rooks of Bleacher Report that his time at Golden State could be over. The former Defensive Player of the Year explained that he knows the business of the NBA and the luxury concerns Warriors ownership has.

"I understand the luxury tax," Green said. "I understand you got these young guys and contracts up, and they have to get paid. I understand all of those things, and so just for me, when I say the writing is on the wall, that's what I mean by the writing's on the wall. I just understand the business side."

Meanwhile, Bob Myers has an expiring contract and is reportedly looking to become the highest paid executive in the NBA. Sam Amick, Anthony Slater and Marcus Thompson II of The Athletic reported that several teams are interested in Myers if he becomes available.

The trio revealed that teams such as the LA Clippers, New York Knicks, Phoenix Suns and Washington Wizards could go after Myers. The Clippers have the richest owner in the league, while the Knicks are always looking to end their bad luck. The Suns have new owners, and the Wizards have a nice core to build around with.
