According to the latest rumors, the Golden State Warriors might deem a former lottery pick as untouchable in trade talks. The Warriors are still struggling for consistency and it could trigger a move or two before the Feb. 9 deadline.

Zach Buckley of Bleacher Report opined that Jonathan Kuminga is a "no-brainer" keeper for the defending champions. The former No. 7 pick had a disappointing start to the season, but has improved in the absence of Andrew Wiggins. He's averaging 15.2 points, 4.6 rebounds and 2.6 assists in his last five games.

"His numbers are rarely loud," Buckley wrote. "In fact, most have dipped a bit from his rookie run, but his approach has been top-notch. He has embraced his role as a defense-first energizer who makes quick decisions, stays within himself and never tries to do too much. He might have stardom in his future, but the fact he's starring in a support role right now has been invaluable."

However, an anonymous NBA executive told Steve Bulpett of Heavy Sports that the Golden State Warriors might make Jonathan Kuminga, as well as James Wiseman, available for trade. The executive believes that the Warriors would want to add a reliable veteran presence to improve their roster. They are motivated to not waste the remaining prime years of Steph Curry.

"I have a feeling the Warriors are going to make either Wiseman or Kuminga available," the exec said. "They just need another solid veteran."
"They think they're decent enough talent-wise, but they just don't think they can put those kids on the floor and execute. They recognize their talent and their athletic ability. They just don't have the execution piece. And their logic is this: They only have X number of years of Steph Curry's elite level of play, and they don't want to waste any of it."

Will Steph Curry's injury cause Golden State Warriors to make a panic trade?

The Golden State Warriors will be without Steph Curry for at least two weeks due a left shoulder injury. That puts the Warriors in a very dangerous position since they've been struggling despite Curry's MVP-level performances this season.

If they are without Curry for at least two weeks, which could be extended to a month, will the Warriors make a trade?

Dan Favale of Bleacher Report thinks that the Warriors are likely playing it out until Curry's eventual return. The defending champs will need Jordan Poole to return to his breakout form from last season.

However, Favale also mentioned that Golden State will have to make a trade out of necessity due to the season Curry is having. He suggested potential targets, including Mo Bamba, Jae Crowder, Eric Gordon, Kelly Olynyk, Josh Richardson, Myles Turner, and P.J. Washington.
