Throughout the course of the NBA season, teams are always eyeing players to use a 10-day contract on. This could be for injury reasons or to take a chance on someone before offering them a full deal. As we approach the midway point of the season, here are five players to watch as possible signees.

Top 5 potenital 10-day contract signees this season:

1) Carmelo Anthony

Kicking off the list is 10-time All-Star and future Hall of Famer Carmelo Anthony. After spending a few seasons out of the league, he found a resurgence with the Portland Trail Blazers and LA Lakers.

Carmelo most recently played for the Lakers last season. In 69 games, he averaged over 13 points per game and shot close to 38% from beyond the arc. With his ability to space the floor and score in bunches, he is a top candidate for a 10-day contract.

2) DeMarcus Cousins

Another former All-Star who could land a 10-day contract this season is DeMarcus Cousins. He appeared in 48 games last season with the Milwaukee Bucks and Denver Nuggets.

At 32-years-old, Cousins still has something to offer an NBA team. He can be a physical force around the rim and is capable of scoring from just about anywhere on the floor. When it comes to big men in the free agent market, Cousins might be one of the better choices.

3) Hassan Whiteside

Another big man to keep an eye moving forward is Hassan Whiteside. The two-time block champ most recently played for the Utah Jazz in 2022. Across 65 games, he averaged 8.2 points, 7.6 rebounds and 1.6 blocks.

While his game is limited, Whiteside is a seven-footer that could help with frontcourt depth on a 10-day contract.

4) Isaiah Thomas

Someone who has signed multiple 10-day contracts over the years to try and earn a spot is Isaiah Thomas. The two-time All-Star spent time with the LA Lakers, Dallas Mavericks and Charlotte Hornets last year.

While his size can be an issue at times, Thomas is a guy worth taking a chance on. He keeps himself in shape and is willing to come in and provide offense in a bench role.

5) Tyler Dorsey

Rounding out the list is former second-round pick Tyler Dorsey. He started the year on a two-way deal with the Dallas Mavericks, but only appeared in three games.

Dorsey hasn't gotten much of a chance in the NBA, but had an impressive summer competing in EuroBasket. Playing alongside Giannis Antetokounmpo on Team Greece, he averaged 15.2 points and 1.6 assists while shooting an impressive 46.7% from 3.
