Former 11-year NBA veteran big man Enes Kanter Freedom has been a strong critic of the NBA’s involvement with China over the past few years.

Kanter Freedom feels that the league and its star players have ignored the human rights violations taking place in China due to financial benefits. He has been particularly critical of LA Lakers star forward LeBron James’ involvement with China, with the two being involved in past public feuds.

So as James surpassed Lakers legend Kareem Abdul-Jabbar to become the NBA’s all-time scoring leader on Tuesday night, Kanter Freedom took another shot at him.

Enes Kanter Freedom tweeted a list of LeBron James’ accomplishments, including his new NBA scoring record. However, outside of his career points total, the list was exclusively composed of negatives, including one that read “1 Bow Down to #China.”

James has been reluctant to get too involved with Kanter Freedom in the past. He is unlikely to let the big man's tweet take away from perhaps the biggest accomplishment of his career.

The most prominent of the multiple past feuds between Enes Kanter Freedom and LeBron James occurred in 2021.

Kanter Freedom said that he would love to talk to James and educate him on the human rights violations taking place in China. This came after he accused the LA Lakers superstar of profiting off China through his endorsement with Nike as Nike has manufacturers in the country.

"Sure, I'd love to sit down and talk to him," Kanter Freedom said. "I'm sure it's going to be a very uncomfortable conversation for him. I don't know if he's gonna want that. I'll make that really comfortable for him.
“I don't know if he's educated enough, but I'm here to educate him and I'm here to help him, because it's not about money. It's about morals, principles and values. It's about what you stand for.
"There are way bigger things than money. If LeBron stopped making money now, his grandkids and grandkids and grandkids can have the best life ever."

When later asked about Kanter Freedom’s offer, James dismissed it.

"Not someone I will give my energy to," James said.

James added that he tried to speak with Kanter Freedom after an LA Lakers versus Boston Celtics game, but he wasn’t interested.

This prompted Kanter Freedom to fire back and accuse James of lying.

"He's lying 100%," Kanter Freedom said.
"First of all, he's lying about that too because I actually walked out a tunnel and I stopped to take a picture with a kid and he was right behind me. He was the one to literally walk right past me and didn't say anything."

Enes Kanter Freedom has since fallen out of the league at age 30 and claims that he has been ostracized by the NBA. Meanwhile, LeBron James is still thriving at age 38.

Based on Kanter Freedom’s recent tweet, it appears that there is still some bitterness on his end.
