The Miami Heat won their third championship a decade ago. They met the San Antonio Spurs in the NBA Finals, beating them in seven games. Chris "Birdman" Andersen was a big part of the Heat, providing the team with a lot of energy off the bench.

Birdman was mostly known for his colored tattoos all over his body. However, many older basketball fans are also aware that the former NBA champion was banned from the league for using a banned substance.

After his 15-year NBA career, Birdman played in the Big3 league, winning a championship there as well. The former Miami Heat center hasn't played since the 2016-17 season, which is why many fans would like to know where he is now.

Chris "Birdman" Andersen was very valuable to the Miami Heat

Chris "Birdman" Andersen was a decent bench player throughout his entire career. He averaged 17.7 minutes per game and started in only 45 out of the 695 games he played.

The big man joined the Miami Heat in 2012 and won his first championship. He appeared in five games of the 2013 NBA Finals, averaging 4.4 points and 3.0 rebounds per game. Andersen was very efficient, converting 72.7% of his shots.

The Heat frequently used small-ball lineups, and their rebounding wasn't the best. However, Birdman provided them with an inside presence and a lot of energy off the bench.

Andersen went down with a season-ending knee injury, which put an end to his basketball career. Since he stopped playing in the Big3, Birdman has been spotted at several basketball games, although it's hard to say where exactly he is in 2023.

Considering that he spent nearly two decades playing professional basketball, there is a good chance that Birdman is still involved in the sport. He is 44 now and his playing days are long gone. However, Andersen was always a big fan of basketball and likely still follows the NBA.
