Luka Doncic etched his name into the history books by signing the biggest rookie extension in NBA history. He will make $207 million over the next five years, establishing himself as one of the highest-paid stars in the league at the tender age of 22.

Doncic displayed MVP level form and consistency during the 2020-21 NBA season, putting up 27 points, eight rebounds, and eight assists per game for the Dallas Mavericks. He crashed out of the first round of the playoffs with a loss to the LA Clippers for the second consecutive time, and will now look to come back stronger this year.

#2 - Stephen Curry, Golden State Warriors - $215 million

Like Doncic, Steph Curry made history as well, becoming the first player ever to sign two back-to-back $200 million-plus extensions. Curry has been loyal to the Golden State Warriors since they drafted him, and the management has rewarded his service with another blockbuster contract.

Stephen Curry is coming off an MVP year in which went toe-to-toe with Joel Embiid and Nikola Jokic for the Maurice Podoloff trophy. Jokic eventually won the coveted prize, but the fact that Curry had a stellar season after coming back from a wrist injury is commendable.

#1 - Giannis Antetokounmpo, Milwaukee Bucks - $228 million

2021 NBA championship and Finals MVP winner Giannis Antetokounmpo also holds the biggest contract in the league. After months of speculation, Antetokounmpo signed an extension with the Milwaukee Bucks in 2020, pledging his future to the franchise that drafted him.

The front office reacted by going all out and acquiring players like Jrue Holiday and PJ Tucker, who eventually helped Antetokounmpo and the Bucks lift the trophy this year. Giannis Antetokounmpo already has one of the most enviable resumes in the NBA at just 26 years of age, and can follow Curry into becoming the second player to sign back-to-back $200 million plus extensions.
