NBA All-Star Voting has given us some amazing races in the past. However, LeBron James has always dominated voting and has competed mostly against Kevin Durant.

The LA Lakers forward is in the lead during the NBA All-Star Voting. With nearly 3.2 million votes, LeBron has a small advantage over Kevin Durant, who could narrow the gap very soon.

This article will reveal all the fan favorites in NBA All-Star Voting 2023. We will also take a look at the voting from the past few seasons and reveal when we will get a new update on the votes.

NBA All-Star Voting features the race between two amazing forwards

LeBron James is having another brilliant season and is very close to surpassing Kareem Abdul-Jabbar on the NBA's all-time scoring list. If he stays healthy and continues averaging 29.1 points per game, the four-time MVP could get to the top before the All-Star Break.

The 2023 NBA All-Star Game will take place on Feb. 19 at Vivint Arena in Salt Lake City. Considering how incredible James has been so far, we expect him to be an All-Star captain for the sixth straight season.

Kevin Durant ranks second in the NBA All-Star Voting with 50,000 fewer votes than the Lakers forward. Like LeBron, KD is having a fantastic season and is very efficient. Unfortunately, Durant suffered an injury on Sunday night and may be inactive for a while.

Despite Durant's injury status, the Brooklyn Nets forward will most likely stay at the top of the East and could increase the lead over Giannis Antetokounmpo.

When it comes to the backcourt, Kyrie Irving and Steph Curry lead their respective conferences. Considering that their leads are relatively big, it is very unlikely that anyone will surpass them by the time the vote concludes.

Previous NBA All-Star Game vote leaders

LeBron James has led the NBA in All-Star Voting for the past six seasons. The last time James wasn't the top vote-getter was for the 2016 NBA All-Star Game, as this honor belonged to Kobe Bryant.

Last year, Steph Curry and DeMar DeRozan received the most votes among guards, while Durant was at the top for the East frontcourt. The situation was very similar in 2021 as well, with the only difference being Bradley Beal at the top of the East.

It's important to note that the NBA no longer allows fans to pick All-Star Game starters. Instead, fan voting accounts for only 50% of the total vote, while the rest is decided by players and media members.

The next All-Star Voting update will be released on Thursday, Jan. 12.
