Nicholas Singleton began his high school football career at Governor Mifflin High School where he was team captain during his senior year and led them to the Berks Football League Section 1 title.
Singleton holds the Berks County record with 6,326 rushing yards and 116 touchdowns. During his senior season, he was named the 2021 Gatorade National Player of the Year after he rushed for 2,043 yards and 41 touchdowns on 165 carries and led the Mustangs to a 10-1 record. Singleton was ranked the country’s No.1 running back in the 2022 recruiting class. Singleton embarked on his collegiate football journey with Penn State despite holding offers from Division I schools like Alabama, Auburn, Arizona State, Florida, Iowa State, Michigan, Michigan State, North Carolina, Ole Miss, Notre Dame, Texas A&M, Tennessee, and Vanderbilt.
In his freshman season with the program, Singleton appeared in all 13 games with seven starts and rushed 156 times on 1,061 yards with 12 touchdowns. He set a freshman record of 12 rushing touchdowns that earned him the 2022 Big Ten Freshman of the Year award. Last year as a sophomore, Singleton was named Penn State’s offensive MVP along with Kaytron Allen after he concluded the year with 171 rushes for 752 yards and eight touchdowns. In 2024, he rushed 838 yards on 131 carries and seven touchdowns.
