Steve Sarkisian has been the head coach for the Texas Longhorns since January 2021. Sarkisian is an experienced football coach, who will be entering his 24th year as a coach and 11th as a head coach. He was appointed as the 31st Head Football Coach for Texas. Sarkisian started a plan to rebuild the Texas program strategically through player development, recruiting, and establishing a strong team culture. Defensively, the team was ranked first in the Big 12 in terms of total defense made with the help of T'Vondre Sweat who earned a selection in the All-American First Team. He helped 11 players to get an invitation to the NFL Combine in early 2024 which was the highest ever in the program's history.
