IPL 2014 Auctions: Five uncapped Indian players to watch out for

Manu

Vijay Zol

He seems to be in terrific form with the India U-19 team; leading them to victory in the recently concluded Asia Cup. The cricketing fraternity is looking forward to watch him defend the U19 WC this February in the Middle East. He has also been instrumental in Maharashtra’s success this season. The top-order batsman will be looking to join his deputy in the U19 team, Sanju Samson; who has already created waves in the IPL with Rajasthan Royals. Watch out for this young man’s name at the auction, I bet there will be a lot of drama involved.

Unmukt Chand

Even though this former U19 World Cup winning captain failed to rake up runs last season, he wouldn’t be sold off cheaply this time around. After failing with the bat last season amidst a lot of attention, Unmukt would be looking to make a strong case. Not just him, the whole of India waits for this talent to come off age.

It’s surprising that Delhi Daredevils let him go without looking to retain him. Only time will tell how costly that mistake was for the Daredevils. He has this liking for the big match situations; scoring big in the knockout stages of every major U-19 tournaments he has been a part of, so far.

Parvez Razool

Parvez Rasool

He led the Jammu & Kashmir team into the quarter-finals of the Ranji Trophy for the first time in their history, in this season. In the Round Robin stages, he scored 560 runs and picked up 21 wickets, and has quite literally carried J&K into the knockouts on his own shoulders. Rasool’s consistent efforts won him a call-up to the India squad for the tour to Zimbabwe last year, but he didn’t make the playing 11. Teams must have already started discussion on how much they can push themselves to bag him this year.
