IPL 2017: Highest run scorers, wicket-takers after Gujarat Lions vs Rising Pune Supergiant
IPL points table, orange cap race and purple cap list after Gujarat Lions vs Rising Pune Supergiant.
The 11th day of the 10th edition of the Indian Premier League witnessed two exciting mathes. Surprisingly, for the first time in the history of the tournament, both the matches on a day produced a hat-trick each. The day started with a hat-trick from Samuel Badree for the Royal Challengers Bangalore in the first match.
What followed was a dream debut for Australian Andrew Tye, when he scalped three back-to-back wickets to become the first IPL player to take a hat-trick in his debut match. However, only one of the two hat-tricks were for a winning cause.
Mumbai Indians made a comeback from 7 for 4 to win the game by 4 wickets, courtesy a smart fifty from Kieron Pollard. Later, the Gujarat Lions earned their first wicket of this season by beating the Rising Pune Supergiant by 7 wickets.
Let us look at where the teams stand after the latest macthes.
|Team Position||Team||Matches Played||Won||Lost||No result||Points||Net run -rate||Last Result|
|Mumbai Indians||4||3||1||0||6||0.308||Beat RCB by 4 wickets|
|2||Kolkata Knight Riders||3||2||1||0||4||1.475||Beat KXIP by 8 wickets|
|3||Sunrisers Hyderabad||3||2||1||0||4||1.156||Lost to MI by 4 wickets|
|4||Kings XI Punjab||3||2||1||0||4||0.516||Lost to KKR by 4 wickets|

|8||Rising Pune Supergiant||4||1||3||0||2||-1.637||Lost to GL by 7 wickets|
Clearly, MI have made s strong comeback after their first loss to pune at the MCA stadium. The team is looking good and leading the charts by an extra win. However, KKR have played one match less than MI. The team is looking stronger with every game under the quirky and fiery captaincy of Gautam Gambhir.
SRH have a balanced playing XI and can surely reach the top spot, if they manage to get a big win under their belt in the next encounter. Same is the case with KXIP, who are flourishing well while captain Glenn Maxwell is leading from the front.
Delhi Daredevils have played just 2 matches and have a 50% win record for now. The sorted combo of Zaheer Khan and Rahul Dravid will play a major role in where this team ends up this season. RCB and RPS have a lot of thinking to do, with just one win in four matches.
They both have star names in their squads but have just not been able to create an impact. While GL are second last in the table, the team now has the momentum of their last win and can look to surge up by a few places now.
Let us look at the orange cap and purple hap holders for now.
