Kolkata Knight Riders must be kicking themselves for releasing the in-form Chris Lynn. The explosive opener blasted a 30-ball 91 after a day when he was released by the Kolkata's think tank. The combative right-hander scored 371 runs in eight innings in the recently concluded Abu Dhabi T10 league. The Australian batsman scored his runs at an average of 53 and a blistering strike rate of 236.30.

Ergo, Chris Lynn was awarded the Player of the tournament and he was instrumental in the success of Maratha Arabians in the league. Lynn has the skills to hit the ground running and teams like Rajasthan Royals and Royal Challengers Bangalore who need an opener in their team can bid for him in the auctions. The talisman has scored 1280 runs in 41 IPL matches at an average of 33.68 and a strike rate of 140.66.

#2 Dale Steyn

The South African pacer Dale Steyn might be on the radar of some of the franchises as he has been in good form in the ongoing Mzansi Super League. The veteran seamer is currently the leading wicket-taker in the league with 10 wickets in the six matches at an average of 19.20. Steyn has retired from the red-ball game and he is only concentrating on the limited-overs format.

The Proteas pacer has all the experience under his belt and he can be a great addition to teams like Chennai Super Kings and Kings XI Punjab who need a foreign pacer in their team. Steyn had scalped four wickets in the two matches he played for Royal Challengers Bangalore in IPL 2019 before he had to head back home due to injury.

Steyn might not be at his prime but he can deliver the goods as he has the experience. The 36-year old has played 92 IPL matches in which he has taken 96 wickets.

Martin Guptill

Sunrisers Hyderabad released Martin Guptill as they already have David Warner and Jonny Bairstow in the ranks. But teams like Rajasthan Royals and Royal Challengers Bangalore can try to rope in Martin Guptill as they need a designated opener in their side.

Guptill has been in decent form in the recent past and he has the skills to get off the blocks from the get-go. The right-hander can provide a good start to his team and can score quickly. The Kiwis opener had scored 153 runs in the five T20I matches against England at an average of 30.60 and with a staggering strike rate of 177.91.

The 33-year old has played only 13 IPL matches but he is currently the third-highest run-getter in the T20I format with 2436 runs in the 83 matches. Furthermore, Guptill is one of the best fielders in the world and he can save extra runs in the field.
