Probably the greatest cricketer to have ever won the Emerging Player award in the history of the IPL, Rohit Sharma is a man who needs no introduction to the cricket enthusiasts and avid sports readers.

Rohit Sharma was part of the successful Deccan Chargers side, who won the second season of the IPL under the captaincy of Adam Gilchrist.

Rohit later moved to Mumbai Indians, where he has lifted 3 IPL trophies. The opener has captained the Mumbai side magnificently and has been a dominant factor in Mumbai Indians' stupendous record in the tournament's history.

Saurabh Tiwary started out his IPL journey with Mumbai Indians and it was in 2010 that the world got to witness the best of Tiwary.

The flamboyant batsman was a destructive force and his batting style was, to an extent, reminiscent of a certain player from Jharkhand who goes by the name M.S. Dhoni.

Saurabh enjoyed batting for the Mumbai Indians and scored more than 400 runs in the season. He was deservedly awarded the Emerging Player of season.

Unfortunately for Saurabh, things didn't turn out pretty well post that season, and the player from Bihar failed to rediscover his form in the seasons that followed.

Tiwary went unsold in the auction for IPL 2019 and will not be playing in the upcoming edition.

#4 Iqbal Abdulla - 2011

Abdulla then moved to Rajasthan Royals before making a switch to the Royal Challengers of Bangalore. In 2017, Abdulla was released and never made his way back to the IPL.

He is seen playing in the Ranji Trophy for Mumbai.

The hard-hitting Shreyas Iyer won the award in 2015 and played quite superbly throughout the tournament. Shreyas was one of the shining lights in what was a disappointingly dull season for the Delhi Capitals.

Iyer was the breakout star of the season as he played a number of impressive innings, including a knock of 70 odd runs against the league leaders Chennai Super Kings.

Shreyas Iyer replaced Gautam Gambhir as the captain of Delhi Capitals and will lead the team in 2019 as well.

The fast bowler from Bangladesh claimed 17 wickets in the tournament as SRH lifted the IPL trophy under the captaincy of David Warner.

He then was signed by the Mumbai Indians in 2018 but was released after a single season.
