For instance, she began to bleed when Gavaskar struck her nose with a straight shot. Meenal wiped away the blood and kept bowling him with tennis balls.


At the age of 95, Meenal Gavaskar, the mother of renowned Indian cricket player Sunil Gavaskar, passed away in December 2022.

Sunil Gavaskar’s father, Manohar Gavaskar, who hailed from a middle-class family, was a good player in club cricket. Sunil’s father passed away in May 2012 at the age of 88.
