Born on December 18, 1986, in Islamabad, Pakistan, Usman Khawaja is a Pakistan-born professional Australian cricketer. He plays for the Australian men’s cricket team as a top-order batter across formats. He bats left-handed and bowls at a medium pace with his right arm.

According to Fox Sports, Khawaja became the oldest cricketer to represent Australia in Test cricket in about two decades in the ongoing Border-Gavaskar Trophy 2024-25. He is also the second Australian to bat on all five days of a Test match in the first Test of The Ashes 2023.

As of December 2024, Usman Khawaja has signed contracts with Cricket Australia in international cricket, Brisbane Heat in the Big Bash League, and Queensland in Australian domestic cricket.

Usman Khawaja Australian Team Contract

Usman Khwaja earned his maiden Cricket Australia contract in 2011-12. According to The Sydney Morning Herald, Khawaja was excluded from the 2012-13 contract list. According to NDTV Sports, Khawaja’s CA contract was promoted in 2013-14. According to Cricket Australia’s official website, Khawaja was again omitted from the central contract list in 2014-15. He earned back his contract for the 2016-17 season and was retained in 2017-18. After being retained for a couple of more years, Khawaja was not offered a contract in 2020-21.

According to the ICC’s official website, Khawaja retained his full-time contract in 2022-23 after receiving an upgrade in 2021-22. In 2023-24, Khawaja was retained in the 2023-24 contract list released by Cricket Australia, as per Fox Sports.
