With only a few months till release, Hogwarts Legacy is already firmly within sight. It's been a while since the last full Harry Potter game was launched for consoles, but thankfully, Hogwarts Legacy, an action RPG set in the Wizarding World, will be available soon. Avalanche Software (well known for the Disney Infinity series) is developing it, while Warner Bros. Interactive is publishing it under the Portkey Games label.

It has been in the works for several years, and until recently, information about the planned game was scarce. That was despite the fact that speculations had circulated for years after a trailer leak in 2018, the game was not officially revealed until September 2020. Following that, there was a period of silence from the production team, but much has been verified in recent months, including a fresh new gameplay preview and a specific release date.

What is the story of Hogwarts Legacy?

The plot of Hogwarts Legacy will transport us to the wizarding world in the 1800s, 100 years prior to the events of the Harry Potter books. It is an original narrative that will allow gamers to experience life as a fifth-year Hogwarts student - permitted late entry due to our possession of the key to an "ancient secret" that threatens the world of Witchcraft and Wizardry.

Furthermore, according to Avalanche Software, in Hogwarts Legacy, players will "embark on a risky quest to learn a hidden reality of the wizarding world, explore some familiar sites, and meet a fresh new cast of characters.”

When will Hogwarts Legacy's release?

The release date for Hogwarts Legacy has officially been confirmed for February 10, 2023 for PlayStation, Xbox, and PC players. A Hogwarts Legacy Switch version is expected, but developer Avalanche Software has yet to specify a date. The game was supposed to be released in 2022 for all devices, however publisher Warner Bros. Games announced, on August 12th 2022, that there would be a brief delay so that the team could "provide the finest possible game experience."

What platforms will Hogwarts Legacy be available on?

Warner Bros. Games has announced the platforms for Hogwarts Legacy as PS5, PS4, Xbox Series X, Xbox One, PC, and Nintendo Switch. The Hogwarts Legacy system requirements for PC have previously been revealed, and they caught several players off guard. This has fueled suspicion that the Nintendo Switch version (which still has a release date) would be a Cloud game although this has yet to be confirmed, but we expect more information in the coming weeks.

The Deluxe Edition provides slightly more than the Standard Edition, as one would anticipate given its higher price. The Deluxe Edition includes:

• Early access for 72 hours

• The Dark Arts pack includes the Thestral Mount, Dark Arts Battle Arena, Dark Arts Cosmetic Set, and Dark Arts Garrison Hat.

• This version will include both the last-gen and current-gen digital versions of the game for those purchasing on PlayStation and Xbox. PlayStation players will also receive an additional exclusive quest.

The Collector's Edition is the most expensive choice, and it includes everything found in both the Standard and Deluxe editions, as well as:
