Yuki is a Japanese racing driver born on May 11, 2000, in Sagamihara, Japan. He started his motorsport career in karting at nine and made his way up through the ranks with support from Honda's Formula Dream Project. Tsunoda tasted major success in junior categories, winning the Japanese F4 Championship in 2017 and finishing third in the FIA Formula 2 Championship in 2020, including three race victories. For outstanding performances in F2, he got upgraded to his first Formula One with AlphaTauri in 2021.

Tsunoda made his F1 debut at the 2021 Bahrain Grand Prix, where he scored points in his first race. Through the years, he has proven to be a competitive driver who drives aggressively and brakes late. He ended his rookie season with 32 points and even got his career-best fourth position at the 2021 Abu Dhabi Grand Prix. However, his ensuing seasons were up and down as he scored 12 in 2022 and 17 in 2023. As of December 2024, Tsunoda finished 12th in the championship standings with 30 points. He scored his two best results of the season finishing eighth at the United States Grand Prix and Abu Dhabi Grand Prix. This latter race proved notable, as he set up for the first laps he had led in a grand prix.
