Lahiri makes cut, lies T-35th in Las Vegas

Las Vegas, Nov 4 (PTI) Anirban Lahiri made the cut at the Shriners Hospitals for Children Open after managing four birdies and a double bogey in the second round, finishing the day at one-over 72 for a Tied-35th position.

The 29-year-old Lahiri, who is making his third start in the 2017-18 season, shot 69 in the first round and is now one-under 141 for 36 holes.

Lahiri bogeyed first and fifth and turned in two-over for the day, and things looked grim when he bogeyed 11th, too, to go three-over. But birdies on 13th, 14th and 16th saw him get to even. He double bogeyed the par-3 17th, when he hit into the water.

But he got back one shot with a final birdie on 18th as he nailed a putt from over 30 feet.

Meanwhile, J.J. Spaun opened a three-shot lead at the top. He added a 65 to his first 66 and his now 11-under for two days. The 27-year-old is three shots clear of Kelly Kraft, who after 67 in first round is four-under through 15 holes.

Robert Garrigus (70-65) is third at seven-under for 36 holes. Play was suspended late due to darkness and some players were yet to complete their second round
