Brian Ortega was born on February 21, 1991, in Los Angeles, California, USA. The 33-year-old Ortega remains a top professional mixed martial artist in the Ultimate Fighting Championship (UFC), having propelled to the promotion riding high on the success of his career while competing in different promotions at the onset of his career.

Brian Ortega won championships in two promotions in the featherweight weight class. He won the RTC featherweight belt at RTC Respect in the Cage 10 on March 12, 2011, by defeating Carlos Garces via a unanimous decision. His other featherweight title reign came at RFA 12 on January 24, 2024, by outclassing Keoni Koch by a unanimous decision.
