Carlos Prates is an up-and-coming contender in the welterweight division of the Ultimate Fighting Championship (UFC). The Brazilian professional mixed martial artist made his way into the coveted professional mixed martial arts promotion after competing in various fight organizations.

Prates got a chance to appear at Dana White’s Contender Series: Season 7: Week 4 where he took on Mitch Ramirez. He knocked him out in the second round to win the fight and march towards making his promotional debut in the UFC. He eventually went toe-to-toe against Trevin Giles at UFC Fight Night: Hermansson vs. Pyfer on February 11, 2024. Prates didn’t disappoint his team and knocked Giles out in the second round to win the bout.
