In his debut showdown, he faced Alexandre Almeida at Jungle Fight 18 and won by a third-round submission to start his career with a win. With a dominant record of 9 wins, 0 losses, and 1 draw, Renato Moicano stepped foot inside the octagon in his debut match against Tom Niinimaki at UFC Fight Night: Machida vs. Dolloway on December 20, 2014. He won the fight in the second round by submitting Niinimaki with the help of a rear naked choke.
