William Scull is a prominent face in combat sports from Cuba. A professional boxer since 2016, he ventured into the sport on November 11, 2016, against Gaston Dario Avalos. The four-round showdown between the two ended in the first round after Scull shut Avalos' lights off to win by a KO.

Scull never looked back after getting a dominant start to his professional boxing career. He established a multi-fight winning streak before landing his first title shot of his career. Scull challenged Sebastian Horacio Papeschi on July 20, 2019, for the South American super middleweight title in a 12-round showdown. He dispatched Papeschi in the sixth round to win the first belt of his professional career via a TKO. He won the IBF Latino super middleweight and IBF super middleweight titles as his career progressed.
